THE ARTIST BEHIND BRILLIANT IMAGES
Maaike
Roosendaal.
Photography is where the story begins.
I’m Maaike, a photographic digital artist, photographer and creative based in Stratford, Ontario. My work brings together imagination, costume, light and digital artistry.
I’m drawn to images that invite you to look a little longer: a familiar person in an unexpected world, a quiet expression, a story held in a single frame.
AN INVITATION
I want you to see what I see.
Your portrait begins with a conversation. I want to understand the ideas, qualities and stories you would like to bring forward, then create an image that gives them a place to live.
Whether we explore the atmosphere of a classical painting or step into an imagined world, the aim is the same: to create art in which you recognize something of yourself.
A BROADER CREATIVE PRACTICE
There is more to the story
Alongside fine art portraiture, my work includes photography, video, costume and prop creation. If you have a different kind of project in mind, I’d love to hear about it.
